MEGA** Adult in the back ponds found on 15 aug by Jen Hahn but not identified until today. Small Tringa, dark back with extensive pale mottling in the mantle feathers, this mottling becoming larger and more obvious towards the neck, but more evenly gray on neck and crown. Lower neck and sides of upper chest barred gray, but becoming streaked higher on neck. White below there to the undertail coverts. Head with obvious white eye line in front and and behind eye. Eye ring negligible. Lores dark. Clean white rump obvious in flight (no central stripe). Tail gray at a distance, thin barring apparent as it took off. Underwings pale gray. Bill black, slight pale base, thin, straight, ~1.5x head length. Legs greenish. Flight call a high pitched ti-ti-ti-ti-ti, similar in pattern to a Lesser Yellowlegs.
