観察結果の詳細
Banded. SY by wing covert and tail condition. Blue-grey base colour to the mantle with a faint green wash to back and rump. Diffuse yellow wash to the supercilium, malar, and upper breast most concentrated at the lores. Pale lower eye arc as in TOWA. No feather samples were obtained, but photos were sent to many including Sievert Rohwer, who has done much research on Townsend's Warblers and their hybrid complexes, and this seemed to be the general consensus in the absence of DNA: "This bird looks just like I remember our specimen of the Townsend's Black-throated Gray hybrid. Particularly diagnostic is the faint yellow on the breast (which does not distinguish Hermit hybrids), and the white in the posterior part of the cheek patch and the stripe above the eye, both of which we have only seen in this hybrid. And the grey in the back."
