With group of gulls on beach. Small stocky egret with short yellow bill and black legs point to non breeding plumage adult. Was behaving sort of skittishly as it lifted up several times with gull flock on alert for nearby dogs and probably alerted by my presence as well - even though I was a decent distance away. Shot video through scope and got some DIGI PICS. Tried to leave it alone and gave it room so other birders could chase later.
