Previously reported. Originally found and reported by Michael Lester on 10/20/2012, reported daily since. This morning (10/25/2012) first saw the bird at approximately 08:00 in a willow tree in the inlet for Thumb Cove. Numerous birds were coming and going from the tree and I quickly lost track of the PHVI. Apparently it moved east since Peter Taylor reported seeing it within minutes of my observation. Peter said it continued around to the east into the mouth of Pena Blanca cove. I refound it at apprx 08:30 mid-level in another willow and photographed it for the next 30 minutes. Behavior notes: this individual would perch in one spot and look around for prey by quick snaps of the head, when a caterpillar was seen the bird would aggressively fly towards it seemingly crashing through leaves & branches. I have not observed vireos feeding in such an aggressive manner, not the typical gleaning of leaves. Though typical of vireos, it would swing and beat the caterpillar before munching down.
