Continuing in the eucalyptus grove, roughly here: (34.430717, -119.889899). During some of my better viewings I was able to note that this bird had almost perfectly round eyerings, a rounded head, very buffy wingbars contrasting with black wings, and a short/relatively dark bill. In my photos the belly is pale and the breast looks dull gray/olive. These field marks all initially appear to suggest LEFL, but sound recordings of what was probably the same bird match with PSFL. So, probably just a weird looking PSFL.
