Surprising and exciting find. Seen in the lower branches of a Red Maple on the western side of the center path of Kitty's Field. Seen exceptionally well and my best views ever of Connecticut Warbler. Upon first observation I assumed given the typical date I see Mourning Warblers at LSP that it was as such. However, the completed hood, complete eyering, large bill, and long undertail coverts I believed I had observed gave me pause. Thankfully, the bird reappeared and sat still for several minutes allowing for close observation and for a digibinned video and photos. I also took audio of the hefty call it was giving. All field marks described above were observed and I was 95% sure of the ID. Confirmation followed when the bird flew to a larger branch beneath the maple's canopy and began to walk across the branch. Photos, video, and audio to be provided. The photos are stills pulled from the iPhone video.
