Least bitterns reported at this pond one or two days ago by Carla and later seen with Heather Brody and Mike.Today, with Mike and Heather, the nest was identified. Nest with four chicks was observed. Male and female adult were observed moving to and from the nest. Nest was obscured in bull rushes about 4 feet off the water. Floor of nest hard to see but a crimped bull rush roof was visible. Chicks are becoming mobile and have ventured from the nest.
