**very rare and infrequently seen. Distant swifts over the ridge were clearly in three categories: large (White-collared), small and pale (Vaux's), and fairly small and dark (White-fronted and Chestnut-collared). Subtle differences in shape and flight style were quite difficult to see with any confidence so far away, but I was struck by how dark the White-fronted and Chestnut-collared appeared (compared to Vaux's). A few of the closer birds (still distant!) gave the impression of a rather large and blunt head and rapid snappy wingbeats, similar in impression to Spot-fronted Swift, but it was only with photos that I was confident about White-fronted. At least a few photos clearly show a whitish forehead.
