Apologies for the fairly poor photos, as I was only carrying my macro lens with me at the time. As I finished photographing a Syrphid fly, I was surprised to hear the familiar (from my California years) "per pew" call of the Ash-throated Flycatcher from somewhere in the scrub nearby. After a brief search not finding it, I played a recording from my phone and it magically appeared in front of me at a distance of about 25 feet. I followed it around for several minutes as it foraged on gumbo limbo berries and then decided to go back to my vehicle to get my 400mm lens to better document it. When I returned to the area, I could not relocate it, but my wife felt she heard it calling again from somewhere to the north.
