Recording equipment provided by Borror Laboratory of Bioacoustics, where original 30-min cassette is deposited. A copy of that tape was digitized by me on 5/5/2020 with playback on a Panasonic RQ-A200 ported out of the headphone jack to the LineIn2 jack of a Marantz PMD661 MkII, which recorded the input in wav format at 96k. I extracted this cut from the tape file with Signal Sound Analysis software, and after high-pass filtering at 2.4k, saved it in wav format for upload to eBird. An unfiltered version of the same segment is available at BLB17663.

Not seen. Recorded and archived at BLB (17663), but they were unable to identify it. eBird's Illustrated Checklist was the solution. On 1/11/21 I went through all songs on there and eventually found a match. Per the paper by Ahlstrom et al (2015) in Avian Research, Integrative taxonomy of the Russet Bush Warbler Locustella mandelli complex reveals a new species, this sound sample is from Sichuan not Russet Bush Warbler. One bird's pure tone at the end of the principal note is between 4 and 3.5 kHz and the second is below 3.5 kHz, per my software. eBird sonogram appears sightly higher but still below 4kHz. This is also a low elevation site, ranging from 750 m to 1000 m.
