Upland Sandpiper can be clearly heard, but is part of a dawn chorus.
観察結果の詳細
At least 5 adults and at least one juvenile. We were driving down the road when I saw an Upland Sandpiper jump up onto a fence post. I yelled to Joan to stop. As she did, she noticed a second individual. We backed up to the first bird, using the car as a blind and I took several photos of the individual I spotted on the fence post. As Phil, Joan and I were watching it, Joan noticed a juvenile on the ground near it. We then watched as the adult dropped down and joined the juvenile. We were only able to see a single juvenile and could not tell if there were more due to thicket/shrubs. We watched the adult as it moved around, vocalizing numerous times. Phil then noticed two more Uppies flying just over us. As we watched them circle, they were joined by two more and we observed all four circling together in a group before they flew off. When they were gone, we resumed watching the original adult (which never left) and the juvenile. After awhile, the adult flew up to a telephone wire were it stood for a couple of minutes, vocalizing periodically, and Joan and I photographed it and made video and sound recordings. [NOTE: AT NO TIME DID WE USE PLAYBACK— or even “pish”]
