Continuing bird found 10/16/15 by Howard King. Around 8 AM, John McCallister and I first heard the bird calling "spuck" several times and we then observed it as it was perched facing away from us atop a large pile of dead palm fronds just east of where the McCallum and Moon Country Trails meet. This area is just east of the McCallum Pond. The bird remained perched for a few minute allowing good views through my binoculars, and to take photos. The bird then flew to a nearby mesquite bush, and then faced us, allowing better views. Slightly larger and more plump than nearby Northern Mockingbirds. It was a warm reddish brown above, including the tail and had two whitish wing bars. The cream colored breast had heavy dark streaking. The eyes were a yellowish color. The dark and slightly downward curved bill, seemed slightly longer than the bills on the nearby Northern Mockingbirds. When the bird faced us, I could see two malar stripes contrasting against the white throat. Photos taken.
