Juvenile Magellanic Steamerducks swimming. Magellanic Steamerducks (Tachyeres pteneres) are flightless, and are found on rocky coasts from south central Chile to Tierra del Fuego. Steamerducks are mainly carnivorous, taking molluscs, small crustaceans and some fish. Adult male and female Magellanic Steamerducks have orange bills, while juvenile birds have dull greenish bills and a pale narrow eye ring. Elevation: 0 m. Date added to IBC: March 16, 2019.
