Parents constantly bringing food to nestlings in nestbox with alarm calls, nestling calls, crow & other bird calls and a.....squirrel can be heard in the backgroundThis is a nonstop job for these parents, from sunrise to sundown. And, for weeks after fledging, they continued to feed the 5 fledglings. The nest box is on its side because the wrens laid their eggs in the box while it was on a shelf waiting to be mounted. When we discovered that, we kept the nest just as they had laid the eggs, but we put it 7 feet up in the air and with no ledge to minimize predator problems.
