A Southern Fulmar swimming in rough water in Whalers Cove, Deception Island. The Southern Fulmar (Fulmarus glacialoides) is restricted to the Southern Hemisphere. It breeds on the Antarctic coast and surrounding islands, nesting in colonies on cliffs. This lone Southern Fulmar was swimming and feeding with several Cape Petrels in rough water near the beach of Whalers Cove, Deception Island. Elevation: 31 m. Date added to IBC: February 7, 2019.
