Juvenile Japanese Green Woodpecker Squawking on Tree Trunk. I heard the squawking long before I found it high up. Later, I found the nesting hole after the female made the movement to feed chicks there. Around in these nearby hills, the green woodpecker is hard to see and at best most people only hear its alarm call as it flies off. Elevation: 174 m. Date added to IBC: June 17, 2018.
