Noticeably reddish colored upperparts and seen from a distance on open lawn in sunlight looked strikingly red colored. Traveling (?) with five American Robin with which it exited the cemetery heading west and into navy property. Not seen again. Rather easy to approach and feeding out in very open areas quite unlike most Swainson's Thrush experiences. This thrush seems a bit odd looking to me. It appears to lack the pale supraloral line expected in Swainson's Thrush. The color looks maybe a bit hot red too. The strong buffy eye ring and brownish flanks not contrasting too much with wing would seem to point towards "Russet-backed" Swainson's Thrush but dark "Western" Veery (form salicicolus) looks very similar too.
