***Mega and second county record; 13th state record and 9th species of vireo in MA this year. Bird was feeding in thickets along goldenrod field at the corner of River and Acoaxet Rd. First spotted by MAE who called it out but the bird disappeared before everyone could all get on it. Eventually MAE relocated it feeding in the same thicket and we all watched it for awhile. Small drab relatively long tailed vireo. Green back with somewhat bright contrast flanks and under tail coverts. Two white wing bars with the lower much brighter. Grayish hood with white throat. Faint broken spectacles and short thick gray bill. Bird was working the thickets S before we stopped following it. Definitely a species we were hoping for today. Pics
