Recordist's Notes: "Since late November, is definitely in the non-breeding season, this recital may be supposed to secure no purpose other than the singer's enjoyment. Lyrebird sings continuously throughout this cut. Extremely varied. Both species of Lyrebirds are known to occur in the area where this recording was made and since the one here taped was unseen, I am unsure of species. The resident ranger who seems to have an excellent knowledge of the birds at Gibraltar Range Park, believes this recording was of M. novae. Birds imitated by the Lyrebird in the recording include: Lewin's Honeyeater (about 1:45 after start of performance) Grey Shrike-thrush (about 2:18 after start of performance) Eastern Whipbird (about 2:30 after start of performance) Crimson Rosella (about 2:50 after start of performance) probable Black-faced Flycatcher (once or twice about 3:00 after start of performance)" ML: Subject changed from Menura to Menura novaehollandiae based on locality. -Matt Medler, 28 June 2015. Recordist believes this bird was a male. Equipment Notes: Microphone: Norelco AKG DYN 200 24''/8'' Parabola.
