Calling and watched pumping display. The bird would clap its bill several times, as if gulping air, and then inflate the sides of its neck as it began "pumping" sound. It only "pumped" 4-5 times at a time. There was a lot of commotion along the road, with fire truck setting up to suck water from the brook to return to a fire west down the road.
