First observation at 1020. At least 4 were light adults (5th one seen poorly). First sighting was high over reach 1 at 1020, circling ca higher than the Scratchgravels, then gliding W/NW. Ca 1135, saw 2 (including 1 seen poorly), gliding/'playing' in wind over the hills N of reach 3, ca 4x shrub height. 1 moved off to the N; lost sight of the other. At 1206, saw 1 on a thermal roughly over the diversion, at least 10x shrub height. Then at 1207 on the same thermal but higher (ca height of the Scratchgravels), Janice spotted a second Buteo, which was NOT a RTHA. Photos showed it was a FEHA. The final RTHA was an adult with dorsally pale tail (similar-looking bird seen last week), in flight SW of the start point, rather distant. Perhaps a local bird? Detections (number 15-minute intervals in which the species was detected): 4 Flyover(s). Photo Review - Detections at 1134 and 1202. JM
