Distant pocket-camera documentary photo for this location (first record was yesterday). Note short and wide tail, broad wings, and squat neck.

Two were seen yesterday near sunset, over the park and then over the neighborhood to the N. I suspect they roosted overnight, along with a number of Turkey Vultures, in that Appletree Hill – Blossom Street – Mount Vernon Street neighborhood, and that the birds I saw this morning were the same ones getting up for the day. Initially there was a large group of vultures circling over this area this morning, and every one of the Turkey Vultures peeled off and drifted S right over the park, and all four Black Vultures were left behind to circle together. The short wide tails, squat necks, and rapid bursts of flapping could all be clearly seen.
