Very simple call note; I was watching the bird vocalize.

This rare speciality is easily seen on this trail. I had my first pair on the steep slope on the right hand side of the paved road going down to the Chateau only about 50 yards after parking. The first shady creek bed just below the start of the "Petit Sentier" was busy with many birds and I had another pair and a single here. The thrasher likes to root through leaf litter and was largely but not exclusively terrestrial. I saw two pairs doing what looked like courtship rituals, stretching tail as high as possible and extending bill and throat upwards, while holding wings partially open and flexed. Then prancing around essentially trying to give the putative partner the best possible view of the throat. All sightings except one group of three were singles and pairs. The best habitat seems to be between the start of the trail and the fork where the loop section starts. Although I saw more individuals the second time I walked this stretch, on returning from the loop section, I did not add to the count total in case these birds were duplicates.
