No bird in the photograph, but this is the opening the bird walked through.
観察結果の詳細
Heard calling and viewed briefly yesterday. Heard calling again this morning. Seen while crossing an approximately 8m clearing. It moved fairly slowly and cautiously, like it was sneaking along. Tail was held mostly straight (not upturned) with basically no flicking. Bird was smaller than a Buff-banded Rail (which was present nearby yesterday), larger than a Spotted Crake and it had prominent barring underneath from the tail to about the legs. Barring looked like it continued on the wings, but not so uniform as the belly. Head and nape appeared a dark red/chestnut. Bill color wasn't obvious, but dark and surprisingly long, almost looking slightly downturned. This made the whole head look a little wedge like. Forgot to look at leg color. The rest of the birds colour was mud colored. I played the ball of Lewin's rail briefly after another 30 minutes of silence and the bird responded immediately.
