NOTES: ca. 9:00. Calls by a male Tachyphonus cristatus that I saw giving this call before I recorded it; when recorded, it was about 12 meters away and 5-6 meters up in a fruiting tree at the edge of the small clearing that was full of birds including the bird that gave these calls, a male Tachyphonus rufus, two female-plumaged Tachyphonus sp. and a pair of Tangara cayana; recorded at the edge of the small clearing just short of the sharp bend at the base of the hill; partly cloudy, intermittently breezy, about 85¡ F. Other Behaviors: Establish Flock Contact, Social Context: Mixed. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, Scrub, Edge.
