** Rare migrant this far east. First heard west of stream south of Schodack sometime around 10AM, then came in and worked down to South Pond. Had worked its way back nearly to Schodack on the way out around 11AM. Would sing over a period of minutes then fall silent for some time, but sound carried well enough to quickly relocate once it started up again. I only heard it doing the classic song, the burry, bass Blackburnianesque song. Also flight-called on a few occasions, a thick and low zeep - very cool. Spent most of time working vines along large trunks, a la BAWW. Came down from canopy on a couple of occasions down to 10 feet or so, showing well. Male, neat white below to throat beside dark, colorlessly blue breastband. Steely blue above from head to tail, with noticeably white flash in tail and double white wingbars. Back streaked dark only in very center.
