NOTES: Bird was initially 15 m away, later 8-9 m away, and 1-1 1/2 m up in scrubby second-growth at edge of tropical lowland forest along a track that left highway just short of kilometer post 171; the first part was recorded in response to playback of prerecorded tape, the second part in response to limited playback of itself, which elicited a much more aggressive response with approach giving the same song but much more of it (it sang only once prior to playback); the bird was seen very well; full overcast and quite humid, calm to intermittent breeze, 77¡ F. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest, Second-growth, Scrub, Edge.
