ESCAPED EXOTIC. Presumed to be a pet bird escaped or released from the adjacent residential area. Only logging this sighting in the event this species gains a foothold in the area like too many other exotics have in recent years. Heard an unfamiliar "see-see-see-see" call at intervals from dense brush. The call was similar in quality to an Oak Titmouse's call but each "see" was a single repetitive monotone note and nothing I could identify by ear alone. Approaching the source I flushed up a small finch like bird. Bird had plain brown upperparts and garish electric blue underparts and tail. The blue underparts were marked by a plain brown belly and dark red patches on the cheeks. Bill was conical and pink with a dusky tip. Legs and feet were flesh colored or a dull pink. Overall a tame and very approachable bird.
