Near dusk on Monday 8/6/18 I happened to luck into a huge gathering of Purple Martins settling in to bushes and trees at I85 exit 49 (Concord Mills exit near Charlotte NC). I watched the spectacle for about 10 minutes as I was waiting for my shake at Cook Out. Original estimate of 2000 far too low after reviewing photos and video I took. Revising estimate to match estimate of same flock two days later in https://ebird.org/checklist/S47735360 Perhaps the best fast food birding I've ever had!
