terible quality documentation of PIPLs that flew and landed near us
観察結果の詳細
saw PIPLs on walk to/fro end of west Seawall Beach. First saw them via binocs in dry sand near dune. (while we were in wet sand). Three adults (orange bills with black at tip and orange legs and broken dark ring around necks) and 9 young -- paler and yellow legs, black bills, and no ring around neck Then on our return 30 min later saw people walking near them near dune, and they took off in the air out and over the water, and landed nearly at our feet in wet sand at water's edge (we have video and photos from iphone but the species is not likely identifyable by anyone who was not there with binocs -- our positive ID came thru binocs). 3 were adults, and 9 juveniles. We can share other images with anyone interested but not likely of scientific value given it was via iphone and def not digiscoped. We attach one as an example of poor quality documentation. Nonetheless we spent time looking thru binocs to ID positively. NB: we saw 16 PIPL on Tuesday at the same general location.
