While heading out to do our shorebird count I spotted a booby heading directly toward us. At first I presumed it was going to be a Brown Booby, as it was flying toward us and I could just see the overall dark wings and dark breast. As it got closer, I was able to see that the bird bird had a bluish bill with a pinkish cast particularly around the face, all dark underwing, and a lack contrast between the breast and belly. The nape and tail of tail were slightly paler. I yelled Red-footed Booby and everyone onboard was able to get on the bird. By the time I grabbed my camera and navigate it around the others on the boat, we were heading one way, and the booby directly away from us. I was only able to get a couple of images, which don't show much beyond the uniform darkness of the bird and hint of the pale tip to the tail. From Brown Booby, by the bill color, uniformly dark underwing, and lack of contrast on underparts.
