Brought my kayak along on this beautiful, calm morning and paddled out to where the bird was resting and feeding along the wharf. It was a dream come true and an amazing experience to have this bird foraging so close, and sometimes resurfaced just feet away from me. Seems to be a very healthy bird and was quite actively foraging, though I never saw it surface with any prey items.
