Continuing. Small loon with gray back of head and neck, small bill, clearly defined line between dark hind/side neck and front white. Not much white on face at all compared to commons. Identifiable photos. Saw it earlier this morning but closer this time. Out in middle of lake but closer to west shore. 39.12113, -95.44168 Constantly bombarded by Bonaparte’s gulls. Or perhaps both it and they are following the same school of fish. State bird! I have long looked for one of these!
