Adult bird. Plain breast with spot and black, white and brown face pattern. See photos. This bird was at a small area of bare ground on the roadside with two juncos and a song sparrow. We stopped to check out the small flock and the first view I had of this bird was frontal. My immediate thought was I was looking at a tree sparrow. Then as I saw the head pattern and the wings and back I was processing the fact that these did not look like a tree sparrow. Then it clicked as to what this really was. Incredibly lucky find that may never have occurred if the snow cover hadn't driven the birds to the roadside. Coordinates where we first had the Lark Sparrow: 39.820166, -76.266513. I believe Derek and the Wolfs found it later and put seed out just up the road a bit about here: 39.820421, -76.262185.
