Long continuing and feeding with a flock of 79 COWA, JASP, YFCA and RCCA. The birds were in grass which had not been mowed for two days so was slightly taller than surrounding lawn and had a few mature seed heads. Not shy, but jumpy because passing humans and dogs kept flushing them. My photos, while poor, show the red rump, brown dorsum and large oval orange mask of this species. The bird is healthy and is not banded as far as I could see.
