First-winter bird. Large gull with robust all dark bill. Palish plumage overall, but characteristic 'dirty' look typical of the species. Primaries were pale with small dusky spots at the tips. Secondaries were rather pale, but slight duskier than the primaries. There was an indistinct dusky tail band. After looking at a few photos of other GW Gulls, it is clear these features are all within normal range and not indicative of hybridization.
