Wow! Just WOW! This bird will forever be near and dear to my heart! Not only a life bird for me, but more importantly my 300th CT year bird for 2025! After 3 consecutive years of trying, I finally achieved my goal! So grateful for all the birding friends I have met along the way who have kept me positive and focused especially when the chasing adventures were challenging or unsuccessful. I have learned so much from so many expert birders out in the field along this journey and have become a better birder as a result of it… but oh so much more to learn! Thank you Shori and Barry for coming back to Hammo today to cheer me on and celebrate with me. So much fun helping so many others get eyes on this special little bird today ~especially Mike Perko and his wife Andrea-we had a lot of good laughs- hope Mike earned his pretzels! Originally found on December 6th by Julien Amsellem. While I tried to observe it that day, I had no luck. To describe this bird as active is truly an understatement. It moved about non-stop for the two hours I observed it. Brightly colored warbler. Dark crown and dark eye patches contrast nicely with its bright yellow face. Yellow throat that bleeds into the chest and belly. Light streaking on sides of chest. Distinctive white wing bars. Photos to be added.
