Seen just before 4 pm and observed it hunting for about 15 minutes. Watched it catch a rodent and fly to a post to consume it but took flight suddenly with the prey in its talons. A Rough-legged Hawk was pursuing it, so the owl dropped the prey and the hawk got a free meal.
