Known location for them, but none reported yet this winter. We had stopped by Fuzzy Taco Pond and didn't see any, wouldn't be surprised if these birds were some of the flock that winters there or over at Las Colinas Blvd Ponds. Anyway, counted scaup flock and had 50 even. Went through once carefully and came up with 25 Greater, 20 Lesser, and 5 that were turned so left as sp. Was more casually birding with friends so didn't take the time to carefully identify every scaup... Very good views with scope (a little far for bins), and the light was perfect to enjoy scope views of the mixed scaup flock. The birds were easy to compare, noting the big billed, big headed, "jowled" look of the Greaters, with rounded heads. Beautiful green sheen on the males. The male Lessers were showing much more purple, some with purple and green and a few with all purple. Pics include some comparison shots of LESC.
