Originally found by Mike Edgar, who observed it coming to his feeding area at his house at Kemper Campbell Ranch. After he alerted me to its presence, Gene Cardiff and I arranged to visit and look for the bird on 9 January 1997. We observed it off and on for about 1 hour, watching the feeding area from inside Mike's house. I obtained some poor, but identifiable photos.
