A mixed flock of about 10 number of Tricolored Munias including 2 to 3 Baya Weavers are observed in a vast grass land. The grass land is primarily consist of Saccharum spontaneum, which is a perennial tall grass belonging to the family Poaceae. The Tricolored Muniass are seen very active as they feed on the seeds of this grass. One Tricolored Munia is also seen perched on a cable. The Tricolored Munia is brilliantly colored, has prominent rusty upperparts and black head. The underparts are cut by a broad white swath from flanks across the lower breast - which is unique to this species. The bill is distinctly stout and gray in color.
