Called this a Cassin's Sparrow in the field but I think a lot of the strange appearance is due to a lot of the details being blasted out by the early morning sun. While the facial marking appear consistent with a Cassin's, the rufous tail and mantle markings make it seem like it can't be anything but a rufous-crowned.
