Juvenile found by George Mee at the flagpoles late morning and present for the rest of the day. Showed well on the rising tide feeding with other terns offshore and occasionally coming close past the beach front often lingering for a short while. A small compact marsh tern with obvious dark saddle contrasting strongly with the silver/grey (and notably broad) wings and white rump - apparent even at distance offshore. A hint of a narrow buff shoulder patch was visible only at close range cf black tern.
