Photos taken of the bird in the air which will hopefully show field marks. A single large shorebird with distinctive dark wings with white patches flew over us as we were paddling back to the launch. It didn’t land but called. Too large to be a Yellowlegs and the call was wrong for those as well. This is the first eBird report of the species in Marion County, though there are reports in neighboring Baxter and Boone counties. Right time of year for migrating shorebirds.
