Historic Sighting in Ladakh! On 15th July 2025, the elusive Long-billed Bush Warbler was spotted in Ladakh for the first time in nearly 50 years! This remarkable record was made by @ladakh_wanderlust and team. Thanks to their timely alert, we were fortunate enough to witness this rare species ourselves today, on 16th July 2025. A truly unforgettable moment for birders and conservationists alike! A single bird was observed in a perfect habitat, calling continuously—likely for mating or territory marking. It flew very low, remaining within a radius of about 500 meters, staying mostly in the bushes of Salix trees. The bird foraged in a "mouse-like" manner, creeping along the ground and through dense thickets. It was a master skulker, rarely appearing on exposed branches, instead moving through the central parts of the tree. It also moved much like a rodent in a barley field. The pitch of its call was so high that it could be heard from quite a distance. The bird was approximately 13 cm in size, light brownish in color, with a pale supercilium, a pale breast, a long dark brownish bill with pale pinkish base of lower mandiable ,and orange legs.
