Very lucky to be at right place at right time. Possibly a boat moved the loons closer to the Boat rental lawn. It cruised by slowly about 100-150 ft out. Great long views. "Pale Gray nape shows at great distance" per Sibley. Very true even when it retreated to the far shore. Photos attached. Second shows the gray nape. Third comparison with Common Loon.
