The end of the dueting, with the male continuing for a few minutes after the female either left or stopped responding
Dettagli dell'osservazione
Calling back and forth for nearly half an hour, if not longer. The one with the lower pitch (male) in the tree outside my window. The one with lower pitch further away. It stopped responding at 2:17, while the one near me continued until 2:22. I was literally woken up by owls, that's how loud they were! At first, I thought they were a part of a dream I was having. Recordings will be added (they are massive and will probably take some time to edit to capture how cool the experience was). Is it too late for GHOW to start nesting? One was singing nearby last month. Does pitch relate to their gender? GH Owlets would be incredible. Edit: so the bird I've heard a few times in my yard is a male. Tonight, the dueting pair featured the male right outside my window, with a female further off.
