I saw this ABDU while waking through the ponds. I then heard what I thought was one of the nearby Mallards start vocalizing but it was this darker individual I was looking at. I heard this duck vocalize repeatedly while watching it open its mouth to do so. The nearby Mallards were not calling. Merlin registered this as a Mallard's call but that's why I visually confirmed which duck was making the noise. To me, this sounds like a Female ABDU call and looks like one, too. It appears this is the first eBird sound recording for ABDU in DC. (If so, wahoo for me!)
