Most audible at around 1 second in, then heard more soflty several times after. A number of calls are heard very faintly at the end of the recording, probably as the bird flew off.

Dettagli dell'osservazione

I had met a student who'd heard my name from a professor, and was talking to me about birds when I suddenly heard this bird give its distinct 'jip, jip, jip' calls and located it at the top of one of the pecan trees along the edge of Campus Court, closer to EN 16th and across from the campus police station. The bird was a female, olive green in color. The distinct bill was visible, with the upper mandible curved across the lower. A small flock of at least three individuals would be observed several times over the next couple of days. I suspect they are Type 2, Ponderosa birds but am uncertain. I did manage to get a very poor recording with my phone where the call is barely audible. I would get a better recording the next day.
