Dettagli dell'osservazione
continuing have compared the tail length in photos from this day (see attached comparison) and also on 3 other visits and they've all been nearly identical so presumably we've always encountered the same individual that previously sat on nest between foraging flights, she was seen in 3 different trees in which she appeared to shadow the WEKIs in 1 and they appeared to shadow her in the other 2: • 1st tree - she flew to the opposite side of dense leaves and was out of sight before exiting a couple minutes later from tree where a WEKI juv family had been vocalizing as they do when being fed • 2nd tree - she flew to smallish tree in the distance and was soon after joined by 3 WEKIs, one at a time, who didn't appear to interact with her and only stayed for a minute • 3rd tree - she perched on a small willow between foraging, then right after she left, 2 WEKIs landed at the exact same spot on the tree where she had been and sat side by side like juvs do could this be a hybrid family? attached juv pics of WEKIs seem typical UPDATE: watched what appeared to be same WEKI family 3 days later and never saw the STFL with them so now backpedaling on the hybrid idea
